The comprehensive training program forms the basis for the study of visual forms and principles of design in publishing and editorial design, corporate and exhibition design, examines the methodologies and problems of contemporary graphic design in advertising, Web sites, multimedia, environmental graphics, service design, interaction design, film, and video.

The fashion design courses at Free University are unusual and exciting, so each student works closely with the instructors. The programs recreate the workflow of a professional design studio from conceptual drawings to color and fabric selection, draping, pattern making, and designing the finished garment.

We offer students a transdisciplinary practice of the collaborative creative process to help transform their current understanding of different tools, techniques, theories, and methods and move beyond traditionally defined art and design disciplines.

Learning by doing is the cardinal rule underlying learning, providing a solid technical foundation and awakening a desire to expand one's life horizons. Emphasis is placed on space design (homes, offices, hospitality) as well as designing environments for exhibit design and furniture design for the home, workspace, and leisure space. The core course will focus on the study and consistent application of decor, use of materials, lighting techniques, and interior accessories.

The updated curriculum balances the full study of traditional mediums: drawing, painting, and sculpture, as well as extensive studies in video, installation, photography, and digital imaging. The study of art history and critical studies, debates and tutorials, and a wide variety of resources will help you consciously explore both historical and contemporary art practices.
